At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the Delegation of Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) of Indonesia, led by Mr. Jusuf Wanandi, co-founder and Vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of CSIS Foundation visited Beijing from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, 2023.

On Nov. 30, CPIFA and CSIS co-hosted the roundtable on China-Indonesia relations. H.E. Wang Chao, President of CPIFA and Mr. Jusuf Wanandi delivered opening remarks respectively. The participants on the Chinese side include Amb. Li Jie, Vice President of CPIFA, Amb. Xu Bu, former Ambassador to ASEAN and experts from China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR) and Renmin University of China. The participants on the Indonesian side include former Foreign Minister Dr. Hassan Wirajuda, Prof. Dr. Djisman Simandjuntak, Rector of Prasetiya Mulya University, etc.. The two sides exchanged views on topics including “Jointly Addressing Risks and Challenges for Regional Peace and Stability” and “Strengthening Cooperation under the BRI Initiative for a China-Indonesia Community with a Shared Future”.  

During the visit, the delegation also met with Mr. Yang Bin, Vice President of Tsinghua University and paid visits to the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) and the National Institute of International Strategy (NIIS) of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) , and the Center for International Security and Strategy (CISS) of Tsinghua University respectively.
