Organizational Structure

CPIFA has seven functional departments:

 

I. General Office

Coordinating and handling day-to-day administrative affairs of the Institute; taking charge of secretariat work, conference arrangement, office automation, financial management and logistic support, etc.

II. Research Department

Making studies into international political, economic and security issues; carrying out international academic exchanges; organizing seminars, lectures, internal discussions and other activities; collecting, compiling and processing relevant information; making policy proposals; drafting reports and speeches; editing, translating, publishing and releasing quarterly publication Foreign Affairs Journal (in English); editing and releasing materials concerning the work of the CPIFA and people's diplomacy.

III. Department for Asian, African and Latin American Affairs

Taking charge of affairs related with Asian, Mid-east and Gulf, African and Latin American regions; playing host to visiting guests from, and organizing visits to, countries in the above regions; establishing and maintaining regular contacts with selected and key corresponding institutions of some countries; familiarizing with and studying the national conditions of countries in these regions, bilateral relations and corresponding Chinese policies, as well as information about relevant institutions and important figures; coordinating and carrying out economic and academic exchanges, reflecting on important information and enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation through exchanges of mutual visits.

IV. Department for European Affairs

Taking charge of affairs related with Western, Eastern and Central European regions; playing host to visiting guests from, and organizing visits to, countries in the above regions; establishing and maintaining regular contacts with selected and key corresponding institutions of some counties; familiarizing with and studying the national conditions of countries in these regions, bilateral relations and corresponding Chinese policies, as well as information about relevant institutions and important figures; coordinating and carrying out economic and academic exchanges, reflecting on important information and enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation through exchanges of mutual visits.

V. Department for North American and Oceanian Affairs

Taking charge of affairs related with North American and Oceanian regions; playing host to visiting guests from, and organizing visits to, countries in the above regions; establishing and maintaining regular contacts with selected and key corresponding institutions of some countries; familiarizing with and studying the national conditions, bilateral relations corresponding Chinese policies, as well as other relevant matters in countries of these regions; coordinating and carrying out economic and academic exchanges, reflecting on important information and enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation through exchanges of mutual visits.

VI. Organization and Personnel Department

Taking charge of the formation and management of the Institute's organizational structure; recruitment, examination and assessment, appointment and dismissal, rewards and punishment, assignment and payment of personnel; taking care of personnel retired from CPIFA; carrying out Party and mass work in the Institute.

VII. Service Center

The Service Center is an institution affiliated to CPIFA. Its objective is to provide logistic service to the Institute's external and internal work and ensure the smooth performance of institutional functions. Scope of services: providing the Institute with logistic service in its diplomatic activities, administrative work and staff members' welfare requests; managing vehicles, a canteen, entertainment arrangements and realty.
