Co-hosted by theChinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC), theChina’s Role in theUnitedNations Video Conference was held successfully in Beijing on September 27. State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi joined the meeting by sending a written letter. Mr. Wang Chao, President of the CPIFA, Mr. Rosen Plevneliev, formerPresident of Bulgaria and Mr.Ismail Serageldin, formerVice President of the World Bank, attended the meeting and delivered the opening and closing speeches. Ms. Shi Ling, Vice President of the CPIFA, and Mr. Zlatko Lagumdzija, former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as Ms.Ameenah Gurib-Fakim,formerPresident of Mauritius, moderated the meeting.

Over 20 prominent delegates including former heads of state and government from different countries attended the meeting and exchanged in-depth views on the topics of“Abiding by UN Charter, Promoting World Peace and Development” and“Upholding Multilateralism, Maintaining the International System with UN at its Core”.
