At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the 93rd Congressional Staff Delegation organized by the U.S.-Asia Institute visited Beijing, Xiamen and Shanghai from December 4 to 13. In Beijing,Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice President of CPIFA, and the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs met with the delegation. The delegation also held discussions with experts and scholars of the Chinese Academy of Governance, and the executives of the American Chamber of Commerce and Boeing Company. In Xiamen and Shanghai, the delegation called upon Xiamen Municipal Government and Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Commerce and held discussions with scholars and experts of Shanghai Institute for International Studies and Xiamen University. The delegation also visited Xiamen Wuyuanwan Experimental Primary School, Shanghai Huawei Company and Shanghai GM Company. The two sides exchanged views on China-US relations and other issues of common concern.
