The Myanmar President’s Political Advisors Visit China

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Mr. U Ko Ko Hlaing, Myanmar President’s Chief Political Advisor, and Dr. Nay Zin Latt, Myanmar President’s Political Advisor, visited Beijing, Shanghai and Yunan Province from May 24 to 30.

       During the visit, Madam Fu Ying, Vice Foreign Minister, Mr. Guan Guozhong, Vice Chairman of the Political Consultative Committee of Yunnan Province, and Mr. Huang Xingyuan, Vice President of CPIFA met or held a banquet with the delegation respectively. Leaders from China Power Investment Corporation and China National Petroleum Corporation had panel discussions on issues of common concern with the political advisers respectively. The Myanmar guests also made speeches on Sino-Myanmar relation and Sino-American relation in Yunnan University and had talks with scholars from China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, China Institute of International Studies and Shanghai Institutes of International Studies.
       The delegation briefed the reform in Myanmar. They believed that Myanmar and China should enrich bilateral ties by means of keeping and developing further government-to-government friendly relation and at the same time promoting people-to-people and NGO relation.
