Algerian Former Finance Minister Prof. Benachenhou Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Prof. Abdellatif Benachenhou, Algerian former Financial Minister and former Economic Adviser to the President, visited Beijing from December 26 to 31, 2011.
In Beijing, Mr. Zhang Weimin, Deputy Commissioner of National Bureau of Statistics, Mr. Huang Xingyuan, Vice President of CPIFA, and Mustafa Yang Zhibo, Vice President of China Islamic Association held a meeting or a banquet in honor of Prof. Benachenhou respectively. Prof. Benachenhou had panel discussions on the situation of West Asia and North Africa, and European Debt Crisis with Mr. Qu Xing, President of China Institute of International Studies, and Mr. Wang Jinglie, Director of Middle East Studies, Institute of West-Asian and African Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He also met with officials from Ministry of Commerce, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Administrative Committee of Zhongguancun Science Park of Beijing Municipal Government.
Prof. Benachenhou spoke highly of China’s development and changes. He believed that China’s fast developments are the results of successful economic policy and scientific and technological progress. He appreciated the friendship between Algeria and China, and wished that the two countries could strengthen their cooperation in trade and people-to-people exchanges.
