H.E. Mr. Keita, Former Prime Minister of Mali, Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, Former Prime Minister of Mali and Chairman of the Rally Party of Mali (RPM), visited Beijing, Hainan and Guangdong from November 7 to 13, 2011.
In Beijing, Amb. Cheng Tao, Vice President of CPIFA, and Mr. Wang Heming, Deputy Director-General of the African Affairs Bureau of the International Department of CCCPC, met with or hosted welcoming banquets in honor of Mr. Keita respectively. In Hainan, Mr. Keita attended the opening ceremony of the 2nd Roundtable Conference on China-Africa Cooperation held in Wanning City and delivered a keynote speech. In Guangdong, Mme. Chen Xiaochuan, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress, and Mr. Zhou Jianchun, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government, hosted welcoming banquets in honor of Mr. Keita respectively.
Mr. Keita spoke highly of China-Africa relations, and expressed his deep appreciation on the non-reimbursable assistance and supports that China has been offering to African countries. He also put forward some suggestions for enhancing China-Africa relations and all-around cooperations, as well as exchanged in-depth views with his Chinese counterparts on the party-to-party cooperation between China and Mali and on the coming presidential election of Mali next year.
