Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Mr. Gordon Brown, former Prime Minister of UK, visited China from 10 to 14 June 2011. Mr. Wang Qishan, Vice Premier of the State Council, Mr. Zhang Gaoli, Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, Mr. Huang Xingguo, Mayor of Tianjin, Mr. Zhou Xiaochuan, Governor of the People’s Bank of China, and Ambassador Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, met with Mr. Brown. The two sides exchanged views on China-UK relations, world economic situation, G20 and European sovereign debt crisis. Mr. Brown also visited Tianjin Binhai New Area and delivered a speech on World Economic Situation.
