Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair Visits China

       At the invitation of CPIFA, Mr. Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of UK, visited China from 29 May to 1 June, 2011. Mr. Li Keqiang, Vice Premier of the State Council, and Ambassador Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, met with Mr. Blair and exchanged views with him on Chinese and world economic situation and European sovereign debt crisis. Mr. Lou Jiwei, Chairman of CIC, and Mr. Chang Zhenming, Chairman of CITIC Group, also met with Mr. Blair and explored possibilities of cooperation on low-carbon and environmental protection technologies. In Beijing, Mr. Blair interacted with professors and students from Peking University and Chinese media and attended J.P. Morgan China Conference 2011-China: Ascending New Heights where he delivered a keynote speech.
