At the invitation of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPlFA), a 12-member U.S. Congressional Staff Delegation organized by US-Asia Foundation visited China from Apr.18 to 28, 2011. During the visit in Beijing, Mr.Liu Lianqing, Director of China-US Railway Project Working Group of the Ministry of Railways, and Mr. Cai Wei, Counsellor of the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry met with the delegation respectively. Amb.Chen Yonglong, Vice President of CPIFA, hosted a welcoming banquet in honor of the delegation. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-U.S. relations, China's high-speed rail construction, Sino-U.S. cooperation on high-speed rail projects, and US financial budget issue, etc.. Apart from Beijing, the delegation visited Shanghai, Suzhou and Yangzhou.
