Members of German Bundestag Visit China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), an 8-member delegation of the German Bundestag led by Mr. Winfried Hermann, Chairman of the Committee of Transportation, Building and Urban Development, visited China from 26 May to 3 June, 2010.
In Beijing, Mr. Liu Xiaochen, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of Beijing Municipal People’s Congress, and Ambassador Cheng Tao, Vice-President of the CPIFA, met with members of the delegation. The delegation held roundtable discussion with the Ministry of Railway, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission and the Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The two sides exchanged views on cooperation in transportation and urban development between China and Germany. Members of the delegation visited Shanghai and Suzhou and attended the 2010 Shanghai World EXPO.
