Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D., former Taoiseach of Ireland, visited China from March 19 to 22 as the guest of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). In Shanghai, Ambassador Sha Hailin, Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Municipal Government，met with Mr. Ahern. Mr. Ahern gave a speech on “The Irish Experience in Europe: Past, Present and Future” at the Ambassador Forum of Fudan University. In Hainan, Mr. Ahern attended the Opening Ceremony and the High-End Dialogue of Boao International Tourism Forum. He also visited the permanent conference venue of Boao Forum for Asia and Haikou. Mr. Luo Baoming, Governor of Hainan Province， and Mr. Zhu Huayou, Deputy Mayor of Qionghai， met with Mr. Ahern respectively.
