On December 2, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Ding Xuexiang met with foreign guests attending the 2024 Understanding China Conference (UCC) in Beijing.

Ding Xuexiang stated that China is building itself into a stronger country and rejuvenating the Chinese nation on all fronts by pursuing Chinese modernization. China will persist with reform to provide strong impetus to Chinese modernization, and expand high-level opening up to share development opportunities with other countries. China will focus on high-quality development to effectively upgrade and appropriately expand Chinese economy, and stick to peaceful development to provide more stability and certainty to the world. China will surely have a promising future as it comprehensively deepens reform, continues to open itself wider, pursues high-quality development and promotes world peace.

Foreign UCC participants, including former Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome and former Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme, said they have full confidence in China’s development and are ready to play a positive role in helping the world understand China.
