President Wang Chao Meets with Chair of the China-Britain Business Council

On November 26, Mr. Wang Chao, President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), met with the delegation of the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC), headed by the Chair Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles. The two sides exchanged views on China-UK relations, China-UK economic and trade cooperation and other issues of common concern. Mr. Yang Tao, Vice President of CPIFA, Mr. Peter Burnett, CEO of CBBC, Sir Sebastian Wood, Chair (China) at Schroders and business executives from the Jardine Matheson Limited, AstraZeneca, SCB and HSBC were in attendance at the meeting.
Wang Chao expressed gratitude to Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles and CBBC for its longstanding contributions to fostering China-UK economic and trade relations. Wang Chao said that as the Permanent Members of the UN Security Council and the world’s leading economies, China stands ready with the UK to actively implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, engage in equal dialogue on the basis of mutual respect, enhance mutual understanding and mutual trust, and strengthen synergy of development strategies. Wang Chao hopes that CBBC continue to play a positive role in pushing a stable and far-reaching bilateral relations and promoting world peace and development.
