On November 27, Wang Chao, President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, met with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to China Abdelkader El Ansari. The two sides exchanged views on China-Morocco relations, people-to-people exchanges between the two countries,  China-Africa relations and other issues of shared interest.
Wang Chao said that in recent years China and Morocco have maintained frequent high-level exchanges. A few days ago, President Xi Jinping made a technical stopover in Casablanca while returning to China by special plane after his state visit to Brazil. Entrusted by King Mohammed VI, Moroccan Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch received President Xi at the airport and held a welcoming ceremony. The two sides had a cordial conversation. This arrangement fully demonstrated the friendship between the two heads of state and the sound momentum of China-Morocco relations. Morocco is a good friend of China in Africa and the Arab world. CPIFA is ready to work with the Moroccan side to implement the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, promote the exchanges of young politicians, scholars, think tanks and the media between China and Morocco and between China and Africa, step up mutual learning on governance, and contribute to advancing modernization and building an even closer China-Africa community with a shared future.
Ambassador Ansari said that the friendly exchanges between Morocco and China date back centuries before. The Moroccan royal family and government cherish the friendship with President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people, and will never forget the precious support from China amid the Covid-19 pandemic and earthquake in the southwest of Morocco in 2023. The Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping have received widespread response. The Moroccan Embassy in Beijing would like to strengthen cooperation with CPIFA to promote dialogue and exchanges between the two countries and between Africa and China in various fields through multiple channels, to help deepen and strengthen the Morocco-China strategic partnership and Africa-China community with a shared future.
CPIFA Vice President Zou Xiaoli was present at the meeting.
