On July 26, 2024, President Wang Chao attended and delivered a speech at the US-China Business Council event commemorating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States upon invitation.

Wang Chao said that China-US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. How the two countries get along with each other not only concerns the interests of both countries and their peoples, but also decides the future and destiny of humanity. On this issue, history and the times have given us the answer, and the leaders and the peoples of our two countries have also given us the answer. As participants in the development of China-US relations, we have the responsibility to take over the mission bestowed upon us by history and the times, carry forward the friendship between China and the US, and contribute to the stability, improvement, and development of China-US relations.

Wang Chao pointed out that we need to refine the "small things" that concern the China-US relationship, solidify the "big things," and do a good job on the "good things". The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has sent a clear signal that China will further comprehensively deepen reform and expand high-level opening up, which will bring new opportunities for the future development of China-US relations, especially for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. The Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs is willing to work with friends from all walks of life both in China and in the US to enhance mutual understanding, friendship, and trust between the two countries and the two peoples, and to jointly create a bright future for China-US relations.
