China-EU Relations Symposium Successfully Held

On June 11, the China-EU Relations Symposium co-sponsored by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, the European Union Association of China and the Spanish Gate Center was held both online and offline at the main venues in Beijing and Madrid respectively. The theme of the conference was "Empowering the Stable and Healthy Development of China-EU Relations in the New Situation", and the sub-topics were "Opportunities and Challenges for the Strategic Stability of China-EU Relations" and "The Role of Endogenous Dynamics of China-EU Relations on China-EU Relations".

Mr. Liu Qibao, Vice Chairman of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and President of the European Union Association of China, Mr.Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, former Prime Minister of Spain and President of the Gate Center, Mr.Wang Chao, President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr. Liu Limin, President of the China Education Association for International Exchange and former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, and Mr. Yao Jing, Chinese Ambassador to Spain, attended the meeting and delivered opening speeches. More than 10 experts and scholars from China, Spain and EU research institutions, universities, think tanks, and representatives of the business community expressed their views and had frank and in-depth exchanges. More than 50 guests were invited to attend the meeting.

The symposium was co-chaired by Mr. Zou Xiaoli, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Song Jingwu, Vice President and Secretary-General of the European Union Association of China, and Mr. Zhang Fengyi, Co-President of the Spanish Gateway Center.
