The Seventh Silk Road International Exposition and the Silk Road Belt Economic Forum for International Cooperation, was held from November 15 to 17, 2023 in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. Mr. Zhang Qingwei, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC), attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Mme. Shi Ling, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) attended the event.
 
The theme of the event is Trade Expansion, Inter-connectivity, and Mutual Prosperity. The Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan serve as the guests of honor countries, and Heilongjiang Province and Zhejiang Province serve as the guests of honor provinces. Guests from more than 50 countries and regions participated in the event this year.
