On September 25, the 2023 World Cities Forum & Regional Leaders' Summit, co-sponsored by Shandong Provincial People's Government and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, was held in Jinan, Shandong Province.Amb. Li Jie, Vice President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs(CPIFA), addressed the opening ceremony.
 
Li Jie said that the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government attach great importance to and strongly support the exchanges between Chinese and foreign local governments to achieve win-win cooperation. CPIFA will actively play its unique role in people-to-people diplomacy, vigorously support the local governments' exchanges with foreign countries, and make new contributions in fostering friendship, seeking common development and pursuing modernization between China and the rest of the world.
