Vice President Li Jie Meets with Lao Ambassador

On August 24, Amb. Li Jie, Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), met with H.E. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador of Laos. They exchanged views on bilateral relations, people-to-people exchanges and other topics of common interest.
Li Jie said China and Laos are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers. The relationship between China and Laos has taken the lead in building a community with a shared future for mankind and in Belt and Road cooperation. The launching of the China-Laos railway has brought tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries. CPIFA stands ready to enhance exchanges with Lao Embassy in China, playing a positive role in consolidating the friendship between China and Laos and deepening Lancang-Mekong Cooperation and China-ASEAN Cooperation.
Amb. Khamphao Ernthavanh spoke highly of the friendly cooperation between Laos and China. She said the China-Laos railway is a good example of BRI cooperation and extended congratulations on China’s enormous progress in social and economic development made under the leadership of the CPC. In face of complex and fluid dynamics in the region and beyond, people-to-people exchanges are of great significance for the growth of bilateral relations. The Embassy is willing to make joint efforts with CPIFA to enhance exchanges and jointly promote development of Laos-China friendship.
