The 11th World Peace Forum Held in Beijing

Hosted by Tsinghua University and co-organized by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs(CPIFA), the 11th World Peace Forum was held in Beijing from July 2 to 3. Vice President Han Zheng attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. Former President of Brazil and President of the New Development Bank Dilma Rousseff, former Secretary of the Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov, and over 400 distinguished guests including foreign political dignitaries, ambassadors of various countries to China, and experts and scholars participated in the forum with the theme being “Stabilizing an Unstable World through Consensus and Cooperation.”
President Wang Chao of the CPIFA attended the opening ceremony and hosted the first plenary. President Wang pointed out that the world is witnessing accelerating changes unseen in a century and a period of turbulence and transformation globally. Mankind’s pursuit of peace, development, cooperation and win-win results has never stopped, and the call of the international community for the establishment of a more just and equitable international order has become even stronger. As a responsible major country, China is determined to be a builder of world peace, a contributor to global development and a defender of the international order. We should jointly implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative and the Global Civilization Initiative guided by the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind proposed by President Xi Jinping and strive to build a more just and equitable international order.
