China-U.S. Non-Government Leaders Dialogue Held Via Video Link

On June 29, the second meeting of the “China-US Non-Government Leaders Dialogue” was held via video link. The Chinese delegation was headed by Mr. Wang Chao, President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). The US delegation was headed by Mr. Greenberg, Chairman and CEO of C.V. Starr & Co., Inc..
 Members of the Chinese delegation include Dr. Chen Deming, former Minister of Commerce, Dr. Qiu Yuanping, former Minister of the State Council’s Office for Overseas Chinese Affairs and former Executive Deputy Director of the Central Office on Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ning Jizhe, former Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, Amb. Cui Tiankai, Advisor to the CPIFA Council and former Chinese Ambassador to the US, Mr. Liu Qian, President of Chinese Hospital Association and former Vice Minister of Health, Dr. Zhu Min, former Deputy Governor of the People’s Bank of China and Deputy Managing Director at IMF, Mr. Yu Kangzhen, former Vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Mr. Gao Fu, Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences and former Director General of China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Gen. Tang Yongsheng, Deputy Director of National Security Institute of the National Defense University, Mr. Zhang Jiming, Vice President of the CPIFA, Mr. Xu Huaqing, Director General of National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation, Mr. Chen Youquan, former DG-Level Counsel at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of Institute of International Studies at Fudan University.  
18 former US government officials, business leaders and academic scholars from the US side attended the dialogue.  
The two sides conducted candid and in-depth discussions on China-US relations. Some common understandings were reached during the dialogue and some concrete proposals were put forward for cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, healthcare, agriculture, energy and climate change.
