Understanding China·Greater Bay Area Dialogue Successfully Held

Understanding China·Greater Bay Area Dialogue, co-hosted by the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy (CIIDS), the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, Prospective and Innovation Foundation of France, and organized by the People’s Government of Guangzhou Municipality, was successfully held from April 18 to 20 in Guangzhou. Wang Gang, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee, Wang Weizhong, Deputy Secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and Governor of Guangdong Province, attended the conference and addressed the opening ceremony respectively. Wang Chao, President of the CPIFA, attended the conference,addressed the welcome dinner and the Guangzhou gala,and chaired the keynote speeches at the opening ceremony. Li Huilai, Vice President of the CPIFA, attended the conference, spoke at the closed-door sessions on “China-Europe Relations: Adaptation and Transformation” and “Restability and Reshaping of the China-US Relations.”
 
About 80 foreign guests including recognized statesmen, strategists, scholars, business leaders, diplomats and representatives from international organizations and transnational corporations, and leading members from Chinese ministries, commissions, local governments, academia and business participated in the conference online and offline. Among them are Melnikov Ivan Ivanovich, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, Former President of the Philippines and Senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former Prime Minister of France and Chairman of the Prospective and Innovation Foundation, Goh CHok Tong, Former Prime Minister and Emeritus Senior Minister of Singapore, and Yves Leterme, former Prime Minister of Belgium, etc..   

The theme of this year’s conference is “Chinese Modernization and New Opportunities for the World”. Besides opening ceremony, keynote speeches, and Guangzhou gala, there are 10 parallel sessions, 4 closed-door sessions, 3 thematic forums, and a series of supporting activities.
