The 26th China-ROK Future Forum Successfully Held Online
On October20, 2021, the 26th China-ROK Future Forum, co-organized by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the Korea Foundation (KF) was sucessfully held online. The Chinese and Korean delegations were respectively headed by Mr. Wang Chao, President of CPIFA and Mr.Lee Geun, President of KF, who delivered opening remarks. Ms. Shi Ling, Vice President of CPIFA and Mr. Jang Roungpil, Planning Director of KF made concluding remarks at the closing session.
The twosides conducted candid and in-depth discussions on topics of “China-ROK relations and Peace of Northeast Asia” and “Expanding China-ROK Economic Cooperation and Cultural & Peopole-to-People Exchanges”.
Both sides agreed that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-ROK relations enjoy a sound momentum of development. The two countries should take the China-South Korea Year of Cultural Exchanges and the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations as an opportunity to further enhance politcial mutual trust, explore new areas of economic cooperation and deepen cultural and people-to-people exchanges to boost bilateral relations.
About 20 delegates attended the forum. The Chinese delegation includes Amb. Ning Fukui, former Chinese Ambassador to ROK, Prof. Chen Wenling, Chief Economist of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, Prof. Bi Jiyao, Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Macroeconomic Research, and other experts and shcolars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Fudan University, and Yanbian University. The ROK delegation includes Mr. Shin Jung-seung, former Ambassador to China, Mr. Roh Jae-Heon, Director of East Asia Culture Center, and representatives from Seoul National University, Sungkyunkwan University, Dongduk Women’s University as well as theHankyoreh.
