US Congressional Staff Delegation Organized by the US-China Policy Foundation Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), US Congressional Staff Delegation organized by the US-China Policy Foundation visited Beijing, Kunming and Shanghai from August 18 to 26, 2019.
During their stay in Beijing, the delegation attended the Event Commemorating the Friendly Exchanges Between the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and the United States Congress on the Occasion of the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations Between China and the US, and the reception hosted by the Department of North American and Oceanian Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs in honor of the visiting US Congressional Staff Delegations. The delegation also had a discussion with the Institute of American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and exchanged views on China-US relations, bilateral economic and trade cooperation as well as other issues of common interest.
In Kunming, Mr. Chen Hong, Chairman of the Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee, the Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial People’s Congress and Mr. Peng Shaoyun, Deputy Secretary-General of Yunnan Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries met with the delegation respectively and exchanged views with them on local economic and social development. The delegation also visited San Heying Community Neighborhood Committee and Qing Fengxiang Tea Company.
In Shanghai, the delegation had a discussion with the Shanghai Institute for International Studies and visited Shanghai GM Company.
