US Congressional Member Delegation Organized by US-Asia Institute Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), US Congressional Member Delegation organized by US-Asia Institute and headed by US Congresswoman Carol Miller visited Beijing, Xiamen and Shanghai from May 25 to June 2, 2019.
During their stay in Beijing, Mr. Zheng Zeguang, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ling Yueming, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Mr. Chen Guomin, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress and heads of the China Energy Investment Corporation met with the delegation respectively. Amb. Wu Hailong, President of CPIFA and Amb. Zhao Weiping, Vice President of CPIFA also met the delegation. The two sides exchanged views on China-US relations, bilateral trade and economic cooperation as well as other issues of common interest.
In Xiamen, Mr. Han Jingyi, Vice Mayor of Xiamen Municipal People’s Government met with the delegation and briefed them on local economic and social development. The delegation also had a discussion with scholars of Xiamen University.
In Shanghai, Mr.Sha Hailin, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress met with the delegation and briefed them on local economic and social development. The delegation also conducted a discussion with scholars of Shanghai Institute for International Studies, and visited Shanghai J& Crown Forest Products LTD and Zhejiang Guanheng Woodcrafts Co., LTD.
