US Congressional Staff Delegation Organized by US-China Policy Foundation Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs(CPIFA), US Congressional Staff Delegation organized by US-China Policy Foundation visited Beijing and Hainan from April 17 to 23.

During their stay in Beijing, Mr. Zhang Min, Secretary General of CPIFA, officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Zhou Mi, Deputy Executive Director of Institute of American and Oceania Study of Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation of Ministry of Commerce met with the delegation respectively, and exchanged views on China-US relations, bilateral economic and trade as well as issues of common interest. The delegation also had a discussion with Prof. Li Qingsi, Prof. Wang Yiwei and students from School of International Studies of China Renmin University.




In Hainan, Mr. Zhou Ping, Deputy Director of Hainan Foreign Affairs Office and Dr. Wu Shicun, President of National Institute for South China Sea Studies met with the delegation respectively. They briefed the delegation on local economic and social development, free trade zone construction and China’s stance on South China Sea issue. The delegation also visited Turtle Conservation and Research Center of Hainan Normal University and International Rose Valley in Sanya, learning of China’s efforts on protecting sea turtles as well as tourism development and poverty alleviation work in Sanya.
