US Congressional Staff Delegation Organized by US-China Transpacific Foundation Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), US Congressional Staff Delegation organized by US-China Transpacific Foundation visited Beijing and Hainan from April 13 to 21,2019.
During their stay in Beijing, Ambassador Zhao Weiping, Vice President of CPIFA, officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Mr. Zou Zhibo, Deputy Director of Institute of World Economics and Politics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, met with the delegation respectively and exchanged views on China-US relations, bilateral economic and trade cooperation, China’s reform and opening-up as well as issues of common interest. The delegation also visited New Oriental Bilingual Academy and had a discussion with faculty and students.
In Hainan, Mr. Wang Sheng, Director of Hainan Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Chen Lian, Deputy Director of Hainan Free Trade Zone Office, Mr. Chi Fulin, President of China Institute for Reform and Development, and representatives of Qionghai Municipal People’s Congress had a discussion with the delegation respectively, and exchanged views on local economic and social development, free trade zone construction, foreign investment, environmental protection and rural development planning. The delegation also visited Hainan Planning Exhibition Hall, Hainan Museum, Hainan Airline Group, Shamei Village as well as Li and Miao Minorities Cultural Heritage Park.
