The 4th Malaysia-China Seminar Holds in Kuala Lumpur

On November 30, the 4th Malaysia-China Seminar, co-sponsored by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the Institute of Strategic and International Studies (ISIS), was held in Kuala Lumpur. 

The Chinese delegation, headed by Amb. Hu Zhengyue, Former Assistant Foreign Minister, included Amb. Ou Boqian, Vice President of CPIFA, Amb. Huang Huikang, former ambassador to Malaysia, and scholars and experts from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University, China Foreign Affairs University, China Institute of International Studies, China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, National Institute for South China Sea Studies and Global Times. The Malaysian delegation was headed by Dato’ Steven Wong, Deputy Chief Executive of ISIS, and included scholars and experts from the University of Malaya and ISIS, and representatives from business community and civil society.

Delegates from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics of “Malaysia-China Relations: Challenges, Opportunities and Prospects” and “Malaysian and Chinese Perspectives on Global, Strategic Issues”. Before the seminar, Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal  Abidin, Deputy Secretary General of the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met with the Chinese delegation.
