The 5th CPIFA-ICWA Dialogue on China-India Relations Holds in Beijing

On September 25, the 5th CPIFA-ICWA Dialogue on China-India Relations, co-sponsored by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), was held in Beijing.

The Chinese delegation was led by Amb. Wu Hailong, President of CPIFA, and consisted of scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), China Institute of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), China Reform Forum (CRF), Tsinghua University, China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU) and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). The Indian delegation was led by Dr. Tirumallai C A Raghavan, Director General of ICWA, and consisted of Mr. Ashok Kumar Kantha, Director of the Institute of Chinese Studies and former Ambassador to China, Dr. Avijit Banerjee, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Culture (Cheena Bhavana), Visva-Bharati University, and experts from ICWA.

Amb. Wu Hailong, Dr. Tirumallai C A Raghavan and Amb. Gautam Bambawale, Ambassador of India to China, addressed the opening ceremony respectively. Delegates from both sides conducted in-depth discussions on how to promote a closer China-India development partnership and strengthen the bilateral cooperation on international and regional affairs after the Wuhan Summit.
