At the invitation of Mr. Franz Fischler，President of European Forum Alpbach in Austria, President Wu Hailong heading the CPIFA delegation attended the forum and paid a friendly visit to Austria from 26th to 29th August 2018. 

During the forum, President Wu Hailong attended the plenary discussion at the Alpbach Political Symposium：“Global power shifts：Implications for Europe and Asia”. Ms. Karin Kneissl, Austrian Foreign Minister, Mr. Li Yong, Director General of UNIDO and Mr. Hans-Dietmar Schweisgut, Ambassador of EU to China were present. They exchanged views on international situation, China-EU relations, China’s reform and opening-up as well as China’s foreign policy, and also answered the questions from the floor. European Forum Alpbach was founded in 1945, and the theme of this year is “Diversity and Resilience”. 

In Austria, President Wu met respectively with Ms. Karin Kneissl, Austrian Foreign Minister, Mr. Heinz Fischer, former Austrian President, Mr. Werner Faymann, former Austrian Chancellor, Mr. Peter Jankowitsch, former Austrian Foreign Minister, and Mr. Franz Fischler, President of Alpbach Forum. The two sides exchanged views on China-Austria relations, China-EU relations, “16+1” Cooperation, cooperation between CPIFA and Austrian side as well as other issues.  
 

Mr. Li Xiaosi, Chinese Ambassador to Austria, and Mr. Liang Jianquan, Vice President of CPIFA，were also present at the meetings.
