President Wu Hailong Meets with Delegation of Nizami Ganjavi International Center

On 24th May, Ambassador Wu Hailong, President of CPIFA, met the delegation of Nizami Ganjavi International Center. The two sides exchanged views on Sino-Europe relations, “One Belt and One Road” initiative, current situation in Europe as well as future cooperation. Mr. Liang Jianquan, Vice President of CPIFA, Mr. Gong Tao, Deputy Director-General of the Department of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were also present.
At the invitation of CPIFA, the delegation was composed of Mr. Ismail Serageldin, former Vice President of the World Bank and Co-Chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, and several executive members of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center, including Mr. Boris Tadic, former President of Serbia, Mr. Zatlers, former President of Latvia, and Mr. Lagumdzija, former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina. During the visit, the delegation participated in the round-table discussion co-hosted by CPIFA and Taihe Institute and exchanged views with the Chinese participants on the topics of Sino-Europe relations under the current circumstances, “One Belt and One Road” initiative and global governance. The delegation also visited the National School of Development of Peking University, Schwarzman College of Tsinghua University and Pangoal Institute.
Founded on 30th September 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan, Nizami Ganjavi International Center aims at preserving the rich cultural heritage of the past as well as encouraging and fostering current scholarship, research, cultural activity and social outreach, with the aim to be a center of excellence for the production of knowledge and to be a place of dialogue and understanding between cultures and people. Its members include former heads of States and Governments and celebrities from the circles of politics, economy, academics and civil society.
