The 18th China-ROK Elite Forum Holds in Seoul, South Korea

From May 14th to 18th, the 18th China-ROK Elite Forum co-sponsored by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the 21th Century Korea-China Leaders Society (21C KCLS) was held in Seoul. The Chinese delegation was headed by H.E. Amb. Wu Hailong, President of the CPIFA. The two sides made candid and in-depth discussions on the topics of “Strengthing China-ROK Cooperation and Maintaining Peace and Stability in the Korean Peninsula”, “Boosting Open Trade and Upgrading the Level of China-ROK Cooperation in Free Trade”, “Promoting China-ROK Cultural Communication and Enhancing the Friendly Sentiments between the Two Peoples”. The Chinese delegation includes Cai Wu, former Cultural Minister, Chen Jian, former Vice Commerce Minister, Zhou Mingwei, former Director-General of the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration and some high-level scholars on Korean Peninsula. The Korean delegation includes Kim Hank Yu, Chairman of the 21C KCLS, Lee Jung Seok, Former Unification Minister of the ROK, Park Tae Ho, Fomer Minister of Foreign Trade, and Lee Bae Young, Former President of Ewha Women's University.

Chinese delegation also met with Shin Jae Cheol, Deputy Speaker of ROK National Assembly, and visted venues of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang and the city of Kangnung.
