First China-Austria Young Leaders Forum Successfully Holds in Austria

From 31 August to 4 September, the First China-Austria Young Leaders Forum, co-sponsored by Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy and United Nations Association of Austria, was successfully held in Vienna, the Capital of Austria. About 20 participants from political, economic, academic and other areas of the two countries gathered together and had in-depth discussions on the topics of “innovation and youth” and “opportunities and challenges confronting China and Europe under the One Belt and One Road Initiative”. Additionally, the participants visited the United Nations Office in Vienna and interacted with the officials from the UN Information Service, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the UN Industrial Development Organization. Dr. Wolfgang Schüssel, Former Austrian Federal Chancellor, H.E. Zhao Bin, Chinese Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Irene Giner-Reichl, Austrian Ambassador to China, Dr. Gerhard Pfanzelter, former Austrian Ambassador to the United Nations and Mr. Paul-Ludwig Hafellner, Division Chief of Austrian Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, met the participants respectively or joined relevant events. During their stay in Austria, the young participants also visited Salzburg. The Forum has concluded in success by promoting the mutual understanding and communication between the young people from Austria and China.
