At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the 97th Congressional Staff Delegation organized by the U.S.-Asia Institute visited Beijing, Xi’an and Shenzhen from December 3 to 12. In Beijing, Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice President of CPIFA, and the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade met with the delegation. The delegation also held discussions with experts and scholars of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, and visited the executives of the American Chamber of Commerce.
