At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), H. E. Mr. Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, the former President of Chile, visited Beijing from June 14 to 19, accompanied by his wife and assistants. H. E. Mr. Qiangba Puncog, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the NPC met with him. H. E. Mr. Frei was also received by Mr. Li Wei, Minister of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), Amb. Xie Hangsheng, Vice Foreign Minister, Amb. Peng Keyu, Vice President of CPIFA, Mr. Ma Jianfei, Deputy Director-General of Hanban, Mr. Zhang Jianguo, President of the China Construction Bank (CCB), Mr. Wu Yanhua, Vice President of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) and Mr. Guo Xiangang, Vice President of the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS).
