U.S. Media Delegation Visits China

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the first group of U.S. Media Delegation in 2014 organized by U.S.-China Exchange Foundation visited Beijing, Wuhan and Shanghai from June 8 to 17.Madame Fu Ying, Chairperson of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress met with the delegation. Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice President of CPIFA, met with the delegation and hosted a dinner in its honor. The delegation also visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, and held discussions with experts and scholars of Tsinghua University and the Chinese Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs. In Wuhan and Shanghai, the delegation held discussions with scholars and experts of Hubei Provincial Academy of Social Sciences and Shanghai Institutes for International Studies, and students at Wuhan University. The trip also covered Donghu High-tech Development Zone in Wuhan and Huawei Company in Shanghai. The two sides exchanged views on China-US relations, regional security, cyber security and other issues of common concern.
