State Councilor Yang Jiechi and Vice Minister Zhang Yesui of the Foreign Ministry met with a delegation of Brookings scholars led by senior fellows Jeffrey Bader and Kenneth Lieberthal on June 22^nd and 24^th respectively. Both Mr. Bader and Dr. Lieberthal used to be Senior Director for Asian Affairs on the US National Security Council. The delegation also held discussions with experts and scholars of Peking University，Tsinghua Univeristy and other research institutions on the present China-US relations and other issues of mutual interest.
