At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), a six-member Ukraine think tank delegation visited Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou from May 5 to 9. In Beijing, Mr. Zhou Li, Vice Minister in charge of the International Department of Central Committee of CPC (IDCPC), Mr. Zhang Hanhui, Director-General of the Department of European-Central Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Sun Rongmin, Vice President of CPIFA, met with the delegation respectively. On 6 May, CPIFA hosted a seminar on Current Situation in Ukraine, where members of the delegation exchanged views with officials from MFA, IDCPC and scholars from the Institute of Russian, Eastern Europe and Central Asian Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Institute of International Studies, China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations and China Foreign Affairs University. In Shanghai, Mr. Chen Dongxiao, President of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS) met with the delegation. The Ukraine scholars also discussed with Chinese counterparts current crisis in Ukraine.
