At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs, the former U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice visited Beijing from April 26^th to 28^th. Vice Premier Liu Yandong and State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with her respectively. The two sides exchanged ideas on China’s comprehensive deepening of reform, China-U.S. relations, educational and cultural exchanges between China and the U.S. as well as other issues of common concern. Dr. Rice also paid a visit to Tsinghua University for events of Schwarzman Scholars Program, where she delivered a speech on the importance of education.
