US Congressional Delegation Visits China

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), an eight-member US congressional delegation visited Beijing, Chengdu and Hong Kong from April 19 to 26. The delegation consists of House Minority Deputy Whip, Congressman James Matheson (D-UT), Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo (D-GU), Congressman Billy Long (R-MO), and their staff members. During the visit, Madam Fu Ying, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of National People’s Congress, Mr. Li Keping, President of China Investment Corporation, Mr. Peng Yu, Deputy Chairman of Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress and officials of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce in charing of American affairs met with the delegation respectively. The two sides exchanged views on China-US relations, current international and regional issues. The delegation also visited a China-US joint venture in Chengdu and studied about China’s new energy and low-carbon economic development.
