Mr. Henry Paulson, Chairman of Paulson Institute at University of Chicago and former US Secretary of Treasury, visited China from February 23 to 27, at the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA). During his stay in China, Vice Premier Wang Yang, State Councilor Yang Jiechi and some other Chinese government met with him respectively. Both sides exchanged views on China-US relations and China’s comprehensively deepening of the reform. Mr. Paulson said thathe and his institute would continue their efforts to improve US-China relations, especially to propose cooperation between the two countries in sustainable development, ecological and environmental protection. Amb. Yang Wenchang， President of CPIFAalso held a meeting with him. President Yang briefed Mr. Paulson CPIFA’son-going exchange programs with the United States. And Mr. Paulson applauded CPIFA’s efforts in the promotion of understanding between China and the United States, and expressed his appreciation to CPIFA for hosting his visitsto China.
