On Feb.27, Amb.Lu Shumin, Executive Vice President of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) chaired a round-table discussion on China-Canada Relations. Mr. Graham Shantz, Director General of North Asia Bureau, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Canada，Ms. Sarah Taylor, Deputy Chief of Mission and Ms. Julia Bentley, Political Counselor of the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, participated in the discussion. Chinese participants at the discussion were H.E. Mei Ping and H.E. Lan Lijun, former Chinese Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Zhang Ping, Vice President of CPIFA, Mr. Zhang Jianping, Director, Department of International Economic Cooperation, Institute for International Economic Research of NDRC and Professor Gong Yan, Director, Canadian Study Center of Beijing Foreign Studies University. The two sides exchanged views on ways to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
