U.S. Media Delegation Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the third group of U.S. Media Delegation in 2013 organized by U.S.-China Exchange Foundation visited Beijing, Xi’an and Shanghai from October 13 to 22. Ambassador Lu Shumin, Executive Vice President of CPIFA, met with the delegation and hosted a luncheon in its honor in Beijing. The delegation also met with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and held discussions with experts and scholars of the Chinese Academy of Military Sciences, the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Chinese Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs. The delegation also visited Baidu Company. In Xi’an and Shanghai, the delegation called upon Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission and held discussions with scholars and experts of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies and students at Xi’an Jiaotong University. The trip also covered Xi’an High-tech Development Zone, Shanghai Huawei Company and Shanghai GM Company. The two sides exchanged views on China-US relations, bilateral economic cooperation and trade, regional security and other issues of common concern.
