The 17th African Senior Diplomats Delegation (Francophone) Visits China

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Froeign Affairs (CPIFA), the 17th African Senior Diplomats Delegation, comprised of 20 members from 19 African countries and the African Union, visited Beijing, Shaanxi and Zhejiang from Aug. 14 to Aug. 29, 2013.

       During their stay in Beijing, Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun met with and held dinner for the Delegation. Vice Chairman Deng Wenkai of the State Council Poverty Alleviation Office met with the Delegation. Executive Vice President Lushumin and Vice President Peng Keyu met with and held a welcome banquet for the Delegation on behalf of CPIFA. Besides, the Delegation visited important Chinese corporations and financial institutions with mega-projects in Africa, such as China Delvelopment Bank, China Road and Bridge Corporation, Sinohydro Group and China Nonferrous Metal Mining Corporation.
       During their stay in Shaanxi, the delegation met with Ms. Wang Lixia , Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province, and visited Yanan, the sacred place of Chinese Revolution, the Terra-Cotta Warriors and the Shaanxi Automobile Group.
      During their stay in Zhejiang, the Delegation met with Mr. Liang Liming, Vice Governor of Zhejiang Province, visited Yiwu International Trade City and the African Studies School of Zhejiang Normal University.
       Deeply impressed by the social and economic developments achived by China, the Delegation members expressed their full expection of the prospects for Sino-Africa cooperation.
