The Seventh Round Table Meeting of Chinese and French Mayors Held in Bordeaux

At the invitation of le Comité France Chine, the Delegation of the Chinese Mayors headed by Ambassador Cheng Tao visited France from 10 to 14 December 2012. Mr. Jean-Pierre Raffarin, former French Prime Minister and Vice President of the Senate, and Mr. Alain Juppé, former French Prime Minister and Mayor of Bordeaux, met with the delegation separately.
CPIFA and Comité France Chine co-sponsored the Seventh Round Table Meeting of Chinese and French Mayors on December 11 in Bordeaux. Around 60 people including municipal leaders and city construction principals from Wuhan, Shenyang, Guiyang, Jiamusi, Yangzhou, Dongcheng District of Beijing, Binhai New Area of Tianjin, and Mayors and Deputy Mayors from Bordeaux, Grenoble, Riviera Kanie, Angouleme, Montlucon, 13th District of Paris, Metz, Montpellier, Pau and Aubervilliers, and senior executive officers of Alstom, Schneider Electric, Suez Environment, Veolia Transport, Air France and La Poste attended the meeting. The two sides had an in-depth discussion on City Resource Management, Smart City Transport and Innovation for Sustainable Development. Ambassador Cheng Tao and Mr. Deng Li, Minister of the Chinese Embassy in France, spoke at the opening ceremony. The Chinese delegation also visited Orleans after the Round Table Meeting and met with Mayor of Orleans.
