At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), Mr. Arnie Roblan, Co-speaker of the Oregon House of Representatives led Oregon Legislative Assembly delegation to visit China from August 28 to September 8. During their stay in China, the delegation paid visits to Beijing, Tianjin, Shaanxi, Yunnan and Fujian. State Councilor Liu Yandong, Secretary Sun Chunlan of Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC, Chairman Xiao Huaiyuan of Tianjin Municipal People’s Congress, Vice Chairman Zhang Guangmin of Fujian Provincial People’s Congress, Vice Chairman Zhang Maizeng of Shaanxi Provincial People’s Congress, Vice Minister Wang Chao of Ministry of Commerce, Vice President Lu Shumin of the CPIFA, and Director-General Xu Lin of Hanban met with the delegation on different occasions. The delegation held wide range of discussions with the Chinese side on strengthening cooperation between Oregon and China, particularly on eco-community building and sustainable development. They also attended the 16^th China International Fair for Investment and Trade held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. Vice Presidents Lu Shumin and Zhang Ping of the CPIFA accompanied the delegation on their visits in Fujian and Tianjin respectively.
