The Second Vice President of Burundi Mr. Gervais Rufyikiri Visits China

At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), H.E. Mr. Gervais Rufyikiri, the Second Vice President of Burundi, led a nine-member delegation visited Beijing, Xi’an, Shenzhen and Shanghai from May 11 to 21, 2012.
During the visit in China, Vice Premier Wang Qishan, Vice Chairman Abulaiti Abudurexiti of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Amb. Lu Shumin, Vice President of CPIFA, Mr. Qu Zhenyuan, Secretary of the Party committee of China Agricultural University, Mr. Lou Qinjian, Executive Vice Governor of Shannxi Province, Mr. Lv Ruifeng, Executive Vice Mayor of Shenzhen Municipal Government, and Mr. Fu Jihong, Vice director of Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office, met with or hosted welcoming banquets in honor of the delegation respectively. Mr. Rufyikiri also attended the Opening Ceremony of China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, and visited the headquarters of some Chinese companies, such as Avic International, Star-times, Beijing Urban Construction Group, Xi'an aircraft factory, Huawei and ZTE and held round table discussions with them respectively.
Mr. Rufyikiri expressed his deep appreciation on China’s achievements and exchanged in-depth views with his Chinese counterparts on Sino- Burundian relations, Burundian current situation and Sino- Burundian Cooperation.
