Pakistan Islamabad Council of World Affairs Delegation Visits China

       At the invitation of the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), the 13-member Pakistan Islamabad Council of World Affairs (ICWA) Delegation visited Beijing, Shanghai and Shandong from Oct. 24 to 31, 2011. During their visit in Beijing, the Seminar in Commemoration of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Pakistan was successfully jointly held by CPIFA and ICWA. At the seminar, both sides highlypraised the plentiful achievements made through the efforts by two sides, and expressed the confidence in the prospect of Sino-Pakistan relations. During their visits to other cities,the delegation engaged in depth and extensive discussions with the experts and scholars of Shanghai Institutes for International Studies on regional issues, relations among the major powers, currentsituationinAfghanistan and the China-Pakistan co-operations.

       On Oct.31,H. E. Amb. Cai Jinbiao, Vice President of CPIFA, and H. E. Amb. Khalid Mahmood, President of ICWA, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between CPIFA and ICWA,which affirms on engaging in exchanges and co-operations between the two institutions on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit and on conducting irregularly-scheduled exchange of visits.
