The 6th China-Singapore Forum held in Beijing

Co-sponsored by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA) and the East Asia Institute (EAI) of the National University of Singapore (NUS), the 6th China-Singapore Forum was successfully held in Beijing on October 19th. About 50 scholars and experts, representing the think tanks on International Studies of both countries, attended the Forum. Amb. Yang Wenchang, President of CPIFA, Prof. Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large of Singapore and Chairman of the Center for International Law of NUS, and H.E. Mr. Chin Siat Yoon, Ambassador of Singapore to China respectively delivered remarks in the Opening Ceremony.
“China-Singapore” Forum started in 1998, based on the agreement reached by two sides in 2008, the forum is to be held in turns by each side once a year. This year’s forum was devoted to three Sessions: 1, China-Singapore Relations: New Opportunities and New Challenges; 2, China-ASEAN Relations: A Review and Outlook; 3, The Relationship among the Major Powers in Asia and the Role of ASEAN in Asia.
